Happy days

In 1851 , when he was in his 30s, French poet Charles Baudelaire, one of the most expressive voices of western culture over the past centuries, wrote an essay on wine, which became famous for linking the beverage to wellbeing. Celebrated in poems and arts, in general, since ancient times – Anacreon mentions it in his Odes – throughout history the beverage revitalizes its charm and its status as indispensable for social and family environments.

In Brazil, since long ago, grapes and wines have become synonymous for quality of life – and, of course, a source of income and jobs in vineyards and mineries. A few years after Baudelaire raised a toast to wine, with the subtle feeling of an enologist, the first Italian immigrants landed in Rio Grande do Sul, giving birth to vitiviniculture in Brazil.
