Winegrowing is gradually consolidatingits status as primordial
activityfor many regions in Brazil. In many states, areas planted
to vineyards are risingyear after year, and the same goes for
wine production and industrialization.
Winegrowing boasts an impressive diversity: the country harvests
table grapes for fresh consumption, varietal grapes for fine
wines and sparklings, hybrid or American types for table wines,
in addition to specific juice grapes.
