It is no secret that agribusiness consists of challenges. Every new crop, regardless of the previous one, starts from scratch. This is just what marks the people of the countryside as deeply confident. They believe in the potential of the land, inputs and infrastructure, and invest with an eye toward high harvest expectations and a market that, ultimately, compensates for their efforts. This has been the case with soybean in Brazil. Had it not been for the confidence and grower entrepreneurship, encouraged by some convictions of the research sectors, the oilseed would never have turned into the flagship of the domestic agricultural ventures.
