A country called tree
When the Portuguese landed on the American Continent, in 1500, they were magnetized by nature’s exuberance and by the visual impact caused by the forests of the new land. They soon realized that timber meant wealth, and started shipping it to Europe and other regions in the world.
Now, after 500 years, Brazil still holds its blessed status when it comes to forestry cover, although severe wounds have been inflicted on nature. The Amazon region, in particular, the Atlantic Forest and other representative biomasses turn the country into a fauna and flora reserve of unques-tionable value for humanity.
