Brazilian poultry and hog farming are without any doubt going
through a favorable moment. The boost in production has been
justified by the performance of the markets, particularly through
the advances derived from exports.
In the segment of birds, in 2004, broilers do not only reaffirm
the financial result derived from the 2003 foreign sales, when
Brazil celebrated the highest revenues, but they also raised
Brazil to the position as biggest world exporter in volumes.
This attests to the strong potential of the sector in farm terms
and its level of competitiveness, adjusting costs and keeping
very important differentials, like sanitary stan-dards and product
quality.
